Summary
Cipherloom is a static reference site. We do not ask you to register, we do not have accounts, and we do not sell or share personal information. The only data we process is what is technically necessary to serve a page and to show advertising, as described below.
Advertising and Google AdSense
This site is supported by advertising served through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites.

Log data
Our web server records standard request information: the page requested, the referring page, the time of the request, a truncated IP address and the browser user-agent string. This is used to detect abuse and to understand which entries are read. It is not used to build a profile of an individual reader and it is not combined with advertising data by us.
Local storage
The bench tools store one item in your browser's local storage: a record of which challenge answers you have revealed, so the solved counter is accurate when you return. This value never leaves your browser and is never transmitted to us. Clearing your browser data removes it.
Your rights under the GDPR
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation gives you the right to access, correct, delete and port your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority.
Our legal bases for processing are legitimate interests (operating a secure, functioning website) and, where advertising cookies are set, consent, which you may withdraw at any time through the consent notice or your browser settings. We do not process personal data for automated decision-making or profiling of our own.
Your rights under the CCPA
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion, to request that it not be sold, and to be free from discrimination for exercising those rights.
We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA. Some advertising-related cookie activity may be treated as 'sharing' for cross-context behavioural advertising under the CPRA; you can limit this by using the opt-out links above or by enabling a recognised opt-out preference signal such as Global Privacy Control in your browser.
Children
This site is not directed at children under thirteen and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.

Material changes will be reflected in the 'Last updated' date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
